About Babysitter.hkBabysitter.hk, one of the projects of Friends of the Family (Hong Kong) Social Enterprise, is the first parent-babysitter matching platform. Several types of childcare services are provided, such as live-out babysitter, midwife, child tutor, childminder. Also, we organise regular childcare training courses for babysitters in order to nurture more skilful and experienced babysitters to meet the childcare service demands.

Accelerating the development of local babysitting servicesDue to the increasing demand of the Hong Kong childcare services, the local supply of the existing childcare services is under shortage. It is thought that accelerating the development of local childcare services can meet the increasing demand and create more employment opportunities. In the meantime, childcare services do not require high educational level. Hence, we hope that more and more people can join the childcare industry and facilitate the local childcare services development.
Unleashing the potential of working womenFrom the perspective of the population policy, women employment can raise Hong Kong’s labor force as well as maintaining its sustainable economic development.
Encouraging parenthoodInsufficient childcare services would increase the cost of child rearing, resulting in low birth rate. Therefore, the development of local childcare services could solve the issues. It can also alleviate the ageing issues in Hong Kong.
Improving the living standard of the underprivileged Many women spend most of their time looking after their children after giving birth, which in turns diminish their family income. By strengthening the local childcare services development and promoting a childcare supporting scheme for the low-income families, we help the underprivileged by improving their living standard. Social mobility could be enhanced.
